The word of the month: Congratulations

The only reason I wrote the previous post was to be able to write this one. Yes, not only did I successfully graduate from Wheaton...(cue attention grabbing photo)

But I also managed to secure a job post-graduation. And let's be honest. This isn't just any job: it's the job I've been looking forward to, the job I've been telling you about, and the job that almost didn't work out (here's for viable plan Bs!).
I have accepted a position with the company Interac which works to supply the Japanese public schools with ALTs, or assistant language teachers. For our intents and purposes, this is basically the JET Program except for the fact that it is a private rather than a government initiative. There were reasons why I was originally attracted to the JET Programme, but as I look into it, I am finding more of the positive sides of working for Interac rather than JET. I am currently going through the paperwork in order to square up my visa and begin the placement process. I look forward to knowing where I will be working, what age group I will be teaching, and when I will start. I expect to know these exciting details within the month. As for now, I am enjoying time with the family at home and look forward to our upcoming international trip.
